The Polar Express

This year we decided to start off the Christmas Season with a trip to Heber to ride on the Polar Express, with are little family of 3. We started watching the movie the week before, so MacRae would understand what it was all about. MacRae slept the entire ride up, so that was nice to be able to talk to Stu. When we got there and he saw all the trains he was so excited. We went into the Train Station to get a snack and then wait for our train to get ready to board.
I let him open one of his presents from Grandma & Grandpa Tripp early, because I knew it was pajamas. He wanted to wear them, just like the little boy on the train, and it kind of felt like we brought them along with us.
Here is his Monster Face. He just started doing it a couple of weeks ago, and I love it. I think it is so cute how his little nose scrunches up. The snack he chose was Cheetos if you couldn't tell.
Waiting for the train to leave

During the ride the gave us cookies and hot chocolate to eat. Then they had elves come around and ask the kids their names and what they wanted for Christmas. We then read the story of the Polar Express while we were on our way to the North Pole. Then we had a special visitor, Mrs. Clause who taught us how to make cookies just the way Santa likes them.
We then saw Santa outside of the train window waving to us, before he boarded the train also to make visits. MacRae just stopped moving and couldn't stop staring at him. Santa then asked what he wanted for Christmas, but I think MacRae was a little shocked so he didn't say anything. He then gave him a bell, and surprisingly enough he was brave enough this year to get his picture taken with him.
It was expensive to do this, but so worth it to see the look on MacRae's face. Me and Stu both decided that we would make this our family tradition and do it every year.
